Hoarding in the workplace is huge!  Many hoarders hoard at home and at work.  Just as many are not allowed to hoard at home and the only other place they can hoard is at work so they do.

It is amazing how no one will confront a hoarder in the workplace.  They hoard millions of important papers, folders, books, coffee mugs, pencils, rolls of scotch tape, rusty unused staples, and dead plants.  People will build an entire system around a hoarder. "We're supposed to give our folders to Sally, but she can't ever find it, so we put it in the conference room on this lil table and she'll come by and sign it."  People waste enormous amounts of time because a hoarder's office is an unbelievable mess that the managers and supervisors allow.  Maybe it is the manager or supervisor themselves who hoard and the whole office is left to design systems so as not to lose important papers.

Why doesn't anyone confront them?  Hoarding is a control issue.  Keep in mind, the show on TV scouts around for the most extreme of extreme cases.  In the office, it's usually not as extreme as it is on TV, but close.  The longer someone's been working there, the more people dodge the hoarder and just build systems around them, many times even ignoring them totally and leaving them out of the loop.
